The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires owners of non-domestic premises in England and Wales to take reasonable and practicable steps to prevent fires, and to protect visitors and employees against death and injury in the event of a fire.
In order to comply with the Order, employers must ensure all employees receive at very least basic fire awareness training backed up by regular refresher training. At least one fire warden should also be appointed, although this will vary according to the risk level of your premises.
Your fire risk assessment will identify your individual fire safety training needs as well as your requirements on fire wardens. Fire wardens work alongside their employers to ensure that all fire safety measures and evacuation procedures are clearly set out and are working effectively. Once appointed, your fire warden will also need to undergo more in-depth training so that they have adequate knowledge to take responsibility for fire safety in the workplace.
We offer fully tailored fire safety training courses for organisations of all types and sizes. All courses are customised to meet the unique requirements of your business in terms of timing, numbers and location.
Run by our fire service experienced and highly knowledgeable fire safety experts, our courses are interactive and engaging, designed to ensure all participants absorb as much helpful guidance as possible so they know precisely what to do to prevent a fire, and in the event of one.
Our training programme is comprehensive and based upon the results of your fire risk assessment. Topics include how to raise the alarm and contact the emergency services; fire door procedures; hazardous substance storage and handling; fire extinguisher training and general fire safety, amongst many others.
In addition, we also offer fire marshal training. Also known as fire warden training, this is for those staff identified in your emergency plan who are required to take on a supervisory role in the event of a fire.
